Happy New Year

Today is the beginning of Rosh Hashanah or Jewish New Year according to the Hebrew Calendar.

When celebrating Rosh Hashanah we blow the shofar to kick of the year.

Next we eat apples dipped in honey which symbolizes a sweet new year.

The traditional greeting commonly used during Rosh Hashanah is shana tova which means a good year.
